Robert Craig was a pioneer in Napa Valley mountain vineyards and a visionary in creating a new wine style for mountain Cabernets that emphasizes ripe fruit, supple tannins, and early balance and integration. Starting in the 1980’s at Hess Collection Winery when he developed 300+ acres of vineyards on Mt. Veeder, today Robert Craig Winery produces small quantities of Cabernet Sauvignon from all the great mountain appellations of Napa Valley. In 2002, the a state-of-the-art winery was completed atop Howell Mountain and today has moved from 25% to 85% estate grown fruit.
